HOPEFEST PHOENIX 2013
Saturday, April 20, was a special day for our state. CityServe Arizona’s HopeFest Phoenix, the largest same-day charitable direct-services outreach in Maricopa County, brought together hundreds of agencies, organizations and individuals to provide over 15,000 “guests” FREE medical care, dental care, vision care, food, clothing, personal care products, haircuts, employment services, housing services, spiritual support and so much more.
Over 150 helping providers provided information, tools and connections to community resources offering on-going care and long-term solutions to those in need; while 2,400 volunteers from across the community of government, business, nonprofit and faith organizations served the HopeFest guests in a fun, festive and energetic environment where children played, families exercised, music entertained and everyone had a great time!
Join us in giving a HUGE thank you to EVERYONE who made HopeFest Phoenix 2013 possible!

The HopeFest Phoenix Story 2012 –
On April 14th, 2102, CityServe Arizona coordinated what now has been called the “largest direct services event in the history of Maricopa County”–HopeFest Phoenix 2012. Fifteen thousand people in need packed into Chase Field in downtown Phoenix to receive everything from free dental exams to haircuts to groceries to tax return preparation. Two thousand volunteers gathered to serve from across the community of government, business, nonprofit and faith organizations.
“HopeFest was an amazing convening of caring, Phoenix style,” stated Clarence Carter, Director of the Arizona Department of Economic Security. “No one agency or program or organization could have had the same effect that pooling all of those resources around a common objective of care, service and hope could do. On that day, the whole of the Valley was truly greater than the sum of its parts.”
And then there were the recipients of care whose lives were changed–the unemployed man who never thought he’d ever have his teeth fixed again or the woman who found housing with the assistance of one of the over 120 local helping providers.
HopeFest Phoenix changed lives!
We are so grateful for the many supporters who provided services to the community valued at thirteen times the investment made.
